Music Inspires Ikebana

Carmina Burana “Oh Fortuna” from Carl Orff

Selected for Music Inspires Ikebana (2024), I explored the theme of the Wheel of Fortune, inspired by Carmina Burana, where Fortuna, the goddess of fate, embodies the ever-turning cycle of life.

Carmina Burana evokes a world in constant movement, where life unfolds between rise and fall, desire and renewal, a reminder that beauty emerges through change and impermanence.

I chose the dried seeds of the Gymea Lily, echoing the Wheel of Fortune and its continuous movement. By dismantling its long, dried structure, I sought to reveal a sense of deconstruction and transformation. I introduced Strelitzia for its vibrant, flamboyant expression.
